Chinese Yao Woman’s Wedding Hat

Northern Guangxi province, mid 20th century, the flat primary surface tapered to the back, set with two peaked panels at the front, all resting on a circular head band, with black and white beads draped along the front and along the edge to the back terminating in silk tassels, made of course handwoven cotton fabric soaked in ox hide glue and ox blood and dried in the sun.
